With the support of a $16 million College and Community Collaboration grant, IU Bloomington, along with the City of Bloomington and The Mill, are leveraging investments to stimulate economic growth and opportunity in Bloomington through the strategic development of downtown Bloomington’s only innovation district.
Accelerating the Transformation of Bloomington’s Trade District
Grant-funded activities include facility buildouts within a new, sustainable tech center building known as The Forge; the purchase of adjacent properties for rapid, strategic development projects; and coordinated arts and infrastructure placemaking activities to increase quality connectivity in and around the Trades District.
